A couple months ago, Colonel Virts came and visited DA. This was a cool experience because if you don’t know who this is he was a commander on the ISS and had several space shuttle missions. He is also an author and was a test pilot and fighter pilot. He wrote a book called The Astronaut’s Guide to Leaving the Planet and we all got a signed copy if we ordered it!

Terry Virts was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1967. United States, Air Force Academy, and flied F-16. He was chosen  to go to space in the year 2000.

In LA class, we have invested fake money in the stock market. We could only invest in US stocks and we had 20,000 fake USD. We tracked our gains and losses using a Google spreadsheet and some code. I invested in 3 stocks. CRSPR, NVDA, and BLU. So far, I have made about 3,524$. I chose these stocks because I read articles about them. I think that these companies will do well. We did this because we are reading The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. In this book one of the main characters, Turtle Wexler, thinks that the way to win the game is to invest in the stock market.
